Who’s ready for Football season?? We could honestly all use a distraction.
It’s Throwback Thursday and today we’re going to showcase these vintage Hubley “Football Player” Cast Iron Bookends. These were manufactured by the Hubley Manufacturing circa 1925. They are in excellent condition and still have the felt pads attached.
These were popular in the 20s, when Illinois football player Red Grange was a household name after scoring 5 touchdowns against Michigan. He was featured on the cover of Time magazine in 1925 after signing with the Bears. The same year, Hubley manufactured these bookends.
